Redensity Sherman Oaks
RHA Redensity (AKA RHA 1 in Europe) is part of the RHA® Collection of dermal fillers which include RHA 2, RHA 3, and RHA 4 – RHA® Dynamic Volume.
The RHA Collection is known as a class of designer fillers. They were formulated to move with facial expressions and still be able to stay in the location of injection, hence resulting in a natural appearance. Our faces are dynamic — meaning we make hundreds of movements such as frowning, smiling, laughing, eating, etc. Repetitive movements create facial lines called dynamic wrinkles, and folds. Because these areas are usually in motion, treating facial lines can be challenging. The RHA® Collection was developed to work with movement to look natural and refreshed. Dynamic facial movements include:
- Frowning
- Smiling
- Talking
- Laughing
- Squinting
- Chewing
What is Redensity? (AKA RHA 1)
Redensity, also marketed as RHA 1, is a hyaluronic-acid filler designed for fine lines, perioral wrinkles, and the tear-trough region, performed by Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD at Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa in Sherman Oaks.
Within the RHA Collection, Redensity is the softest formulation and sits below RHA 2 in firmness. Because of its low cross-link density and movement-tolerant chemistry, it is the RHA product Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD selects most often when the treatment goal is correction of very fine perioral lines or improvement of fine crepiness around the under-eye region , areas where firmer fillers risk visibility under thin skin.
RHA 1 still made with the ‘preserved network technology’ like the other RHAs, but it has less cross-linking which means it can spread and integrate into the tissue better. It works beautifully in the small, fine wrinkles of the lips, lower cheeks, necklines, and chin because it doesn’t bulge out from the skin when placed so close to the surface. At our Medical Spa, it is one of our most popular fillers!
RHA Redensity RHA 1 Benefits
Due to its very thin consistency, it sits in small fine lines without causing a bulge, bump, or a discoloration (Tyndal effect). We use this product in areas such as lip lines (AKA granny lines, indict lines, bar code lines), in lower cheek lines, chin dimples, neck lines and small wrinkles throughout the lower face. Even though it has such thin consistency, it’s effects can last up to one year. Another benefit of RHA 1 is that it can hydrate thin skin areas such as the lips without forming much volume. This is great for those who only want a chapstick, hydrated set of lips.
Lastly, a huge benefit of all RHA fillers is that they have the safety of being able to be reversed instantly with an enzyme called Hyaluronidase.
What Results to Expect from RHA 1 Redensity:

How the Procedure Works
RHA Redensity is a minimally invasive procedure performed at our medical spa. It is performed by our doctor or one of our expert nurse injectors.
The Redensity process at Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa in Sherman Oaks has three phases (preparation, the in-office injection, and aftercare) — for patients arriving from greater Los Angeles, Encino, Studio City, and Tarzana.
Before & Preparation
- Discuss your goals with your injector so she understands the outcome you’re seeking. During your consultation, your injector will also:
- Discuss whether you are a good candidate for RHA Redensity.
- Tell you what to expect during your procedure.
- What to do and instructions to follow prior to and during your treatment.
- Tell your provider if you are taking any medications or supplements that may cause increased bleeding. These include aspirin, NSAIDs like Motrin and
Ibuprofen, fish oil, blood thinning medications, and alcohol. - If you have any plans to get vaccinated or laser therapy, please let your injector know as it’s not ideal to have these done within a two-week window of your RHA Redensity treatment.
- Let your injector know if you are pregnant or nursing, as filler injections are discouraged during this time. Also if you have a history of severe reactions. The safety of Redensity has not been studied in pregnant people or those with a history of severe allergic reactions. You must be over the age of 18 to be eligible for Redensity since the FDA didn’t study this treatment in people under 18.
- Don’t engage in strenuous activity on the day of your treatment or the next day. When your blood flow increases, it can increase bruising and swelling.
- Stay hydrated! Drinking a lot of water helps keep your skin moisturized which aids in speedier recovery times.
- Limit your exposure to the sun for 48 hours.
- Don’t smoke 48 hours prior to the procedure as it will increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
During the Procedure
- Redensity is a non-invasive procedure that is relatively quick at 15-30 minutes depending on how many areas are treated.
- The treatment area will be cleaned with alcohol or a different antiseptic.
- Numbing creams may be used to increase comfort during injection.
- Your injector may use a pen to mark the injection site if needed; the ink will wipe off.
- Redensity has lidocaine in its formulation to minimize any discomfort.
- Redensity will then be injected into the treatment area using a very fine needle or cannula.
- Your provider may massage the area to ensure the placement of the product is correct.
Aftercare & Recovery
There is always potential bruising and swelling associated with any filler injections but you can resume most of your normal activities after treatment.
Follow your provider’s post-care instructions but for the best outcome after injection you should avoid:
- Intense exercise for 24-48 hours.
- Make-up on the treated area for 24-48 hours.
- Touching the treated area for 24-48 hours.
- Harsh products such as AHA/BHAs, scrubs and retinol.
- Blood thinning medications/supplements and alcohol.
- Facials and/or facial massages for 2 weeks.
- Dental work or any vaccinations for 2 weeks.
Treatment Areas
RHA Redensity is FDA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe dynamic perioral lines and wrinkles (around the mouth). It closely mimics our bodies’ own hyaluronic acid making it move more naturally when injected into the skin, integrating into the surrounding skin.
Its formulation provides a very natural look and feel in the treatment of very superficial lines, unlike thicker fillers that feel heavy and may look bumpy and unnatural when placed close to the skin surface.Common treatment areas include:
- Vertical lip lines
- Marionette lines
- Smile lines
- Lip smoothing and plumping
- Neck lines
- Lower cheek lines
- Chin lines and dimpling
Because Redensity has the softest texture in the RHA Collection, it is also used at Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa for under-eye / tear-trough rejuvenation as a physician-supervised off-label application, Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD evaluates candidacy individually, since under-eye anatomy is high-risk and not appropriate for every patient.
Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa offers RHA 1, using advanced technology to blend seamlessly with your skin’s movements for natural, long-lasting results. Schedule now.

Similar & Related Procedures
- Juvederm Volbella: Juvederm Volbella is a dermal filler that requires a more superficial injection technique. The filler is designed to treat fine lines and wrinkles.
- Belotero: Belotero is a very thin hyaluronic acid. It is FDA-approved to treat wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth. It works best for thinner wrinkles and lines, especially in the lip area. It lasts approximately 3-6 months.
- Restylane Silk: From the Restylane family, Restylane Silk is the thinnest filler from their NASHA technology that can treat fine lines and wrinkles. When compared to RHA Redensity, Silk does provide a bit more volume as well as more temporary swelling than RHA Redensity. However, in our experience, it lasts a bit longer.
- Restylane Refyne: Like Restylane Silk, Restylane Refyne is also from the Restylane family. Restylane Refyne is the thinnest filler using the XpresHAn Technology, which means it blends into the skin tissue more than its cousin product, Restylane Silk, and has less temporary swelling.
- SkinVive by Juvederm: SkinVive is made of hyaluronic acid but falls into the category of “injectable moisturizer” due to its very low volumizing effect and low cohesiveness. It blends into the tissue the way RHA Redensity does. While both of these products are made using different technologies, they tend to behave very similarly when injected into the outer skin layer. SkinVive however was designed to be injected under the skin to attract moisture.
Comparison of Teoxane RHA Fillers
Within the RHA Collection — Redensity (RHA 1), RHA 2, RHA 3, and RHA 4 (RHA Dynamic Volume), firmness rises with each step. Redensity is selected for fine lines and tear troughs; RHA 2 for soft lip volume; RHA 3 for structural lip projection and moderate dynamic wrinkles; RHA 4 for deep volume restoration. The choice between Redensity and RHA 2 in the lips is the most common cross-product question Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD answers at consultation.

RHA 1 (Redensity) FAQs
What is RHA filler?
RHA is a unique filler that was specifically developed for dynamic movement in the face (laughing, talking, chewing, etc.). It mimics the hyaluronic acid in your body so that it moves with your face to look beautiful and natural whether you’re moving or at rest.
How long does Redensity last?
Redensity typically lasts 9 to 12 months in the perioral region and 6 to 9 months in higher-mobility areas like the lip border. Tear-trough results vary widely by individual anatomy. At Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa in Sherman Oaks, Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD reviews maintenance timing during follow-up.
What is the difference between RHA Redensity, 2, 3 and 4?
The RHA Collection was thoughtfully developed with different levels of firmness to address specific parts of the facial anatomy. Redensity was designed and FDA approved to treat moderate to severe perioral wrinkles which are the fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Commonly known as lip lines, smoker lines, marionette or barcode lines. It was formulated to look soft and natural around the mouth, making you look refreshed and natural.
- RHA 2 is approved for moderate facial folds. It’s very flexible and is a wonderful option for radial cheek lines (known as accordion lines) and also areas around the mouth. It’s a good option for under eyes and lip filler as well.
- RHA 3 is firmer than 2. That’s because it treats moderate to severe folds and lines. It’s also a solid choice for smoothing out smile lines in the nasolabial folds.
- RHA 4 is the firmest of the four. It was developed for injections into the deep dermis (skin) and superficial subcutaneous tissue. It’s the best choice to address deeper wrinkles, more severe folds and to fill in the hollows and to build out the chin and jawline
What are the side effects of RHA Redensity?
Even though RHA Redensity is FDA approved as a safe filler, common side effects inherent to any filler injection are still possible. These include redness, bruising, swelling, and tenderness. This usually goes away within a week post-treatment. More serious complications are uncommon.
Can Redensity 1 cause vascular occlusion?
Yes. If filler is unintentionally injected into a blood vessel, it can block circulation of blood in the region. As leading faculty in teaching filler injection techniques, Dr Soleiman and her colleagues at Cosmetic Injectables Center take every precaution to reduce this risk.
What is the difference between Profhilo and Redensity?
Redensity is better when it comes to enhancing skin texture and hydration, while Profhilo excels in improving skin elasticity through bio-remodeling.
What is the difference between RHA 1 and Redensity 1?
RHA 1 and Redensity are the same product. In Europe, it was marketed as RHA 1, and in the United States, it is marketed as Redensity. It is a dermal filler formulated to treat fine lines. The filler is a patented product of cross linked hyaluronic acid.
Can Redensity be used under the eyes?
Yes, at Cosmetic Injectables Center Medspa, Redensity is used as a physician-supervised off-label option for tear-trough and under-eye correction in carefully selected patients. The under-eye region is anatomically delicate, so Dr. Sherly Soleiman, MD evaluates candidacy in person before deciding whether Redensity, an alternative, or no filler is appropriate.
Is Redensity a skin booster?
Yes, it is. Redensity is considered a skin booster since it can hydrate and improve sun-damaged skin, which can also help with skin elasticity.
Where do you inject Redensity 1?
Redensity 1 works beautifully in the small, fine wrinkles of the lips, lower cheeks, neck lines, and chin because it doesn’t bulge out from the skin when placed so close to the surface.
What is the difference between RHA 1 Redensity vs. Skin Vive?
While RHA 1 is marketed as a filler and Skin Vive is marketed as a deep skin moisturizer, they are very similar in their concentration of hyaluronic acid and their clinical results. The technology for their cross linking however is a bit different with Skin Vive using Vycross Technology.
Experience subtle, yet noticeable enhancement with Cosmetic Injectables’ RHA Redensity—ideal for fine lines and delicate touch-ups in highly expressive areas.
