      How the Procedure Works

      Before receiving Restylane Refyne injections, patients will meet with an experienced practitioner to discuss cosmetic objectives and pricing structure. Your experienced injector will then create an individualized treatment plan. Although preparation is not required, some standard operations must occur before a session begins.

      Before & Preparation

      Before the procedure, please follow this guideline to ensure that you can get the best possible results:

      • Avoid any blood thinning medication or foods for at least five days (anti-inflammatories such as Advil and Motrin, fish, oil, alcohol, Cova, vitamin E) as they can increase your risk of bruising.
      • Avoid seeking treatment during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
      • Plan to stay local for two weeks after your treatment in case of need for any adjustments.
      • Wash your face well and remove all makeup prior to your visit.
      • Consider taking arnica supplements starting 1 to 2 days prior to the visit to reduce the risk of bruising.
      • Consider postponing any plans for vaccination or dental work within two weeks of your injection.

      The smallest size needles will be used to reduce the risk of pain and bruising and increase accuracy of placement. An alternative is a blunt tip cannula, which can also reduce bruising and the number of pokes, and increase comfort.

      The area of treatment will be cleaned with alcohol or Hydrogen peroxide after injection and you will be ready to go home.

      During the Procedure

      When you meet with your provider, you will discuss your goals during the consultation to ensure that you get your desired results. You should:

      • Inform the front desk if you would like topical numbing cream applied while you’re waiting for your provider;
      • Inform your healthcare provider if you have had or plan to have vaccinations within a two-week period of your Voluma injection;
      • Inform your healthcare provider if you’re at risk for cold sores, or herpetic lesions in the area of injection;

      The procedure will take about 10 to 20 minutes and can be done the same day as your consultation as long as timing allows.

      Additional local numbing or blocks will be offered for your comfort, even though the product already includes numbing pre-mixed in.

      Markings may be used to guide during the injection.

      Aftercare & Recovery

      After you leave the office, you should follow up with your provider and ensure you follow the do’s and don’ts mentioned below.

      • Avoid touching, or manipulating the area after injection.
      • Keep the treatment area clean by avoiding any makeup or daily creams for 24 hours.
      • Avoid receiving any dental procedures or vaccinations within two weeks of treatment.
      • Try to reduce movement in the area of treatment and inflicting pressure such as sleeping on your sides for 3 to 5 days.
      • Request anti-viral medication if you have had a past history of herpetic lesions in the area of treatment.

      Similar & Related Procedures

      Juvederm Voluma is often compared to thicker fillers from different companies. That includes Juvederm Volux (the same company as Juvederm Voluma), Restylane Lyft, RHA 4, and Radiesse.

      • Juvederm Volux: Volux is also reversible, but much firmer than Voluma. It is indicated for the jawline.  Clinically it lasts longer than Juvederm Voluma which has a 2 year longevity, but the FDA studies were stopped at one year for bringing it into the market. Juvederm Volux is more contoured than Juvederm Voluma.
      • Restylane Lyft: Restylane Lyft is a reversible hyaluronic acid-based filler that is firm but less cohesive than Juvederm Voluma. Hence, Voluma tends to hold its shape better.
      • Radiesse: Radiesse is white in color as its calcium-based filler that induces collagen as a biostimulant. However, it’s not instantly reversible like Voluma.
      • RHA4: RHA4 is an instantly reversible hyaluronic acid filler that lasts 1 year (shorter than Voluma). It is more water-loving than the other thick fillers (attracts more water over time) and hence doesn’t retain its shape as much as Voluma and Volux.

      Restylane Refyne Reviews

      I had an amazing experience at Cosmetic Injectables Center! The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. I was looking to contour my jawline, and they truly understood my vision. I wasnt sure whether I need something else and Dr. Soleiman was here to guide me what I am missing to my face to enhance my beauty. The results were exactly what I hoped for–subtle but defined, enhancing my features perfectly. She was using Juvederm Voluma and Volux for my jawline, chin and cheeks. As a European, I highly recommend it for anyone doubting which specialist to choose. Just come to LA, and trust Dr. Soleiman! I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enhance their look with skilled professionals who genuinely listen to their clients’ needs!! Its been a month now and the results cant be better. I assume the filler settled down and it looks just PERFECT!
