Rha4 Filler For Treating Moderate To Severe Wrinkles Like Nasolabial Folds And Marionette Lines, Providing Natural Results.

What is RHA 4 Filler?

RHA 4 is a hyaluronic acid based filler that is part of the RHA® Collection of dermal fillers. This collection of fillers has been approved in Europe since 2015 and has been in the USA since 2020. Renowned for its award-winning selection of designer fillers, this line also includes FDA approved Redensity, RHA 2 and RHA 3. These innovative fillers were specifically developed to closely resemble the natural hyaluronic acid that occurs in our bodies, thus resulting in natural looking results.

The RHA Collection of fillers were intentionally composed to move along with your intrinsic facial movements. While some other fillers are designed to be firm and stiff for bone shaped contouring, RHA fillers were designed to be injected into the outer layers of the skin and integrate so that lumps and bumps don’t form when skin is squeezed with natural facial movements such as smiling or pursing.  Because of this, your face will look more rejuvenated and refreshed whether your face is moving (talking, laughing, etc) or at rest.

When we talk about repetitive/dynamic facial movements, we mean:

  • Frowning
  • Smiling
  • Talking
  • Laughing
  • Squinting
  • Chewing
  • Making a Sad Face

Within this offering of RHA fillers, RHA 4 has a great balance. Its amount of firmness, water affinity and structural support allows for the perfect enhancement to fill moderate to severe lines such as smile lines and marionette lines, nasolabial folds and other deep creases. RHA 4 is the perfect choice for reviving the lower face including the deepest creases and the jawline.

How Many Different Types of RHA Fillers Are There?

There are currently four types of RHA FDA approved in the USA for injection.  Each was formulated for very specific areas of the face. They include:

  • RHA 1 (Redensity): the thinnest formula that smooths and lightly plumps wrinkles on the skin or lips for a very subtle and refreshed appearance
  • RHA 2: a stretchier but slightly volumizing formula that is ideal for moderate facial wrinkles, dynamic wrinkles, and minor plumping
  • RHA 3:  a thicker formula that is best for building up volume and moderate in-set wrinkles/folds, It is also FDA approved for lips. Clinically, we have seen especially good and long lasting results in patients whose standard lip fillers tend to dissolve quickly.
  • RHA 4: the strongest/thickest formula that is ideal for deep facial folds and contouring facial features like hollows, cheeks, and the jawline.

Your injector will advise on the best RHA filler to use for each part of the face you are targeting to help achieve your desired results.

RHA 4 FAQs

What is RHA 4 used for?

RHA 4 is a great filler choice for those who want to add volume to moderate and severe folds, deep lines, and enhanced shape to the face and anterior jawline without obvious ridge lines.

How long does RHA4 filler last?

The span of longevity for RHA 4 hyaluronic acid filler depends on the recipient’s metabolism, diet, exercise, and enzyme levels. It also depends on where it’s injected.  Results typically last between 9-15 months.

What is the difference between RHA Redensity, 2, 3 and 4?

They are all a part of the RHA family, from thinnest (Redensity AKA RHA1) to most firm (RHA 4).  Depending on the desired result, providers can choose the correct firmness for each area of the face, to achieve either subtle thin wrinkle treatment or firm, jawline contour.  For example, Redensity is perfect for super thin wrinkles, while RHA 3 is great for lip enhancement and volumization, and RHA 4 for cheeks and jawline definition.

How painful is receiving RHA fillers?

Fillers themselves are typically painless due to the numbing agent lidocaine pre-mixed within its gel.  However, the pokes may be slightly uncomfortable for some people.

What is the difference between RHA 3 and RHA 4?

RHA 3 is designed for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds and provides a balance of flexibility and strength, making it suitable for dynamic areas like the nasolabial folds and lips. RHA 4, on the other hand, is firmer and intended for deeper injection sites to correct severe facial wrinkles and volume loss in areas like the cheeks, chin, and jawline. RHA 4 can also be used by our advaced injectors as a means to firm lax skin.

What are the side effects of RHA 3 fillers?

Common side effects of RHA 3 fillers include redness, swelling, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, pain, and itching at the injection site. These effects are typically mild to moderate and resolve within two weeks.  Other more serious complications such as vascular occlusions and allergy to the product are infrequent.

Can you use RHA 4 for the chin?

Yes, RHA 4 can be used for the chin to reduce dimpling and address moderate to severe wrinkles in that area.  For more drastic chin volume or contour enhancement, we recommend firmer fillers. Please visit us for a consultation to discuss.
