When we begin to treat the signs of aging, we tend to focus mostly on our facial features rather than also addressing other areas of the body that may give away our age, such as the neck and the back of our hands. At Cosmetic Injectables Center, our providers have an integrated approach to improving our client’s overall appearance. Restylane Lyft is an ideal filler because of its versatility in helping you achieve a vast array of cosmetics concerns.
What is Restylane Lyft?
Restylane Lyft is an effective and safe dissolvable Hyaluronic Acid-based dermal filler. As part of the Restylane family of dermal fillers, Restylane Lyft is formulated with thicker cubes of hyaluronic acid compared to its counterparts such as Restylane L and Restylane Silk, which translates to longer-lasting and firmer results. As with the other Restylane fillers, Restylane-Lyft also contains the local anesthetic lidocaine to reduce the pain associated with the injection process.
Restylane Lyft has three FDA-approved treatment areas
- The Midface and the Cheek area
- The Nasolabial Folds
- Back of the Hands
Restylane Lyft is FDA approved for treating severe to deep wrinkles on the midface area, including the dynamic wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Restylane Lyft also has FDA approval to treat the back of the hands and replace lost volume in that area. As we get older, the back of our hands can become more translucent and lose their youthful volume. As a result, the veins and tendons protrude out and become more visible. This loss of volume can potentially make our hands look older and unsightly. However, Restylane Lyft can successfully be used off-label for use in other areas as well such as chin, temples, and jawline.
Restylane Lyft Benefits
Restylane Lyft is ideal for adding volume to areas that need a firmer hold, such as the midface area and the nasolabial folds. Results with Restylane Lyft can last between six to twelve months. Restylane Lyft is suitable for enhancing and shaping the cheek area and correcting moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. Some benefits to expect from Restylane Lyft include adding a lifting effect to the cheeks, smoothing smile lines, and adding volume to the back of the hands.
How Long Will Results Last?

Restylane Lyft Before and After
How the Procedure Works
Before The Procedure
For the week leading up to your appointment, it is recommended to avoid using aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen and Alleve, St. John’s wort, or high doses of vitamin E supplements because of their associated risk of bruising and swelling.
You should avoid consuming alcohol three to seven days before your appointment for the same reason. Finally, please arrive at your appointment with a clean face free of makeup.
During the Procedure
During Restylane Lyft injection procedure, your injector will inject the hyaluronic acid based filler into the predetermined area (hands, cheeks, smile lines, chin, jaw line, or other indicated areas). The depth of injection is based on the goals of treatment, which your injector will determine during assessment. The injections should only take about 10 minutes to complete. The procedure is usually comfortable as there is numbing solution pre-mixed in this filler, so your injection specialist typically will not provide additional numbing unless requested.
After the Procedure
After your treatment, you can use a cold compress to reduce swelling. It is recommended that you avoid exposure to intense heat through saunas, hot tubs, or steam rooms. Avoid sleeping on the treated area for at least two weeks to keep the filler from being displaced.
At Cosmetic Injectables Center in Sherman Oaks, we have a medical doctor specialized in non-invasive cosmetic procedures on staff available to answer any questions or concerns regarding aftercare, which may not be the case with many other Medspas.

Restylane Lyft has three FDA-approved treatment areas:

Restylane Lyft Reviews
“I had a really great experience at CIC. It was my first time getting lip filler. I booked a consultation in office and was able to have the procedure done during the same visit. Melody was very kind, patient, and professional. She took the time to explain everything in detail which made me feel more comfortable as it was my first time having any cosmetic procedure done. She also followed up and checked on me. I’m really happy with the results and the experience I had with Melody at CIC. The reception staff was also very friendly. The facility is clean and beautiful. I would recommend Melody for your cosmetic needs. Thank you Melody and CIC team!”

Restylane Lyft FAQs
How long does a Restylane Lyft last?
Results from Restylane Lyft last anywhere between six and twelve months, depending upon the individual’s diet, exercise, sleep habits, and hormonal level. Another factor that affects the filler’s longevity is if the individual has had fillers in the past. If someone has gotten fillers in the past, there are likely remnants from the previous filler injections, so they will need fewer touchups.
What is Restylane Lyft good for?
Restylane Lyft is a water-loving (hydrophilic) gel that is also firm in nature. These two factors make it exceptionally practical for use in the cheeks, chin, jawline, hands, and temples. The FDA has given Restylane Lyft approval for use in the midface and cheek area, nasolabial folds, and the back of the hands.
What is the difference between Restylane and Restylane Lyft?
Restylane is a group of gel products formulated by the company, Galderma. Restylane Lyft is one of the most hydrophilic (water-loving) and firm fillers within the Restylane family. Other fillers in the Restylane family include Restylane Refyne, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Silk, and Restylane Kysse.
How long does it take for Restylane Lyft to work?
The results from Restylane Lyft are immediate, and swelling may occur, settling within two weeks.
Which is better Voluma or Restylane Lyft?
Voluma lasts two years and is less hydrophilic (water-resistant), resulting in a more defined look. Restylane Lyft, however, lasts one year and is more hydrophilic (water-loving), which gives it a more blended result.
Is Restylane Lyft better than Juvederm?
Juvederm is a family of fillers, and just as with the Restylane family of fillers, there are many different subtypes of Juvederm. The closest Juvederm product to Restylane Lyft is Juvederm Ultra Plus. The difference is that Juvederm Ultra Plus is a bit more hydrophilic (water-loving), and there is more Hyaluronic Acid in Juvederm Ultra Plus than Restylane Lyft.
Is Restylane Lyft good for cheeks?
Yes, Restylane Lyft is good for cheeks. However, it depends on the patient’s anatomy and cosmetic goals. If the patient wants a more lifted and rounded appearance, Restylane Lyft is an ideal filler for the cheeks.
Does Juvederm lift cheeks?
Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Voluma can also function as good fillers for lifting the cheeks. There are subtle differences between these three products, and your provider at Cosmetic Injectables Center in Sherman Oaks, California, can walk you through those differences to help you decide which product would be best suited for your specific needs.
What is an 8 point face lift?
An eight-point facelift is when filler is used strategically in particular areas of the face to get the most “bang for your buck” when it comes to improving the appearance of one’s face.
Does Restylane Lyft hurt?
Restylane Lyft contains a numbing agent called Lidocaine. While you may experience mild discomfort with the initial poke, the lidocaine mixed with the filler will start working to make the procedure more comfortable. To help maximize your comfort, we offer complimentary topical numbing agents and dental blocks upon patient request.
Is Restylane Lyft safe?
Some patients report redness, bruising, swelling, or itching at the injected site. These symptoms are considered normal and typically subside within the first two weeks after the treatment. Restylane Lyft has been in use since 2003, giving you reassurance in its reliability. With the correct technique and placement, the risks associated with Restylane Lyft are minimal, especially in the hands of expert providers like the ones at Cosmetic Injectables Center in Sherman Oaks.
Does Restylane Lyft Work Immediately?
Yes. Once Restylane Lyft dermal filler is injected into the sub-dermal layers of your skin, it immediately replaces any lost volume so you will look younger even as your treatment is being completed. The instant results will help your provider give you the ideal amount of product in each injection site.
How Does Restylane Lyft Work?
This hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler adds fullness and volume to the treated area. Fillers made with hyaluronic acid are designed to work with the natural hyaluronic acid produced in your body and help the sub-dermal layers of the skin attract moisture, so the skin appears plumper.
What Can't You Do After Restylane Lyft?
To receive the most out of your dermal filler treatment, you should avoid contaminating the injection area by touching it or applying makeup or creams for the first twenty-four hours. It is also essential to avoid extreme heat, pressure/massages, sun exposure, and other aesthetic treatments for the first two weeks after treatment.
