What is Revanesse Versa & Versa Lips?

Versa Packaging

Revanesse Versa is a filler that was formulated first and received FDA approval in 2017 for the treatment of nasolabial folds.

Soon after, in 2018 the plus sign “+” was added to indicate the addition of lidocaine (a numbing agent) into the formulation to allow for a more comfortable injection.

In 2020, the same filler was FDA-approved for use in lips, which led to a separate packaging to emphasize the indication.  Otherwise, both Revanesse Versa+ and Revanesse Versa Lips+ are the exact same filler and formulation and do a great job filling in many areas of the face, inducing the smile lines and the lips.

Are Revanesse Versa and Versa Lips Reversible?

Fillers like Revanesse Versa are made of hyaluronic acids. These molecules are completely and instantly reversible by injecting a reversal agent called hyaluronidase (name brands Hylenex and Vitrase).

Hyaluronic acid filler molecules are held together by cross-linking. Some fillers have more cross-linking of larger gel particles or longer hyaluronic acid chains, which changes their characteristics.  Based on these differences, some fillers can last longer. while others get broken down faster. Revanesse Versa and Revanesse Versa Lips have been FDA-approved to last 9-12 months.  Regardless of the amount of crosslinking or longevity, hyaluronidase can be injected to break them down instantly for the body to discard them.

Some fillers only need one session of reversal agent, while other products may need two or three sessions to dissolve completely. If you have experienced migration of your fillers or are unhappy with your filler results and are looking for help, you are in the right place.

Our experienced providers at Cosmetic Injectables Center in Sherman Oaks, California are experts at removing and reshaping misplaced fillers.

Revanesse Versa & Versa Lips FAQs

What are the benefits of Versa lips?

The Versa Lips filler is a versatile soft-tissue filler that will rejuvenate and plump your lips. With a less than 15-minute injection, you will get your desired results.

How much does Versa filler cost?

One syringe of Versa filler can range from $650 to $850. Our office offers Versa for a competitive price. Call to inquire about our current specials.

Is Revanesse Versa a good filler?

Yes, Revanesse Versa is an FDA approved filler due to its reliable safety profile and effective results. It is especially a great filler for the lip area due to its water-loving consistency. It is very similar in result to Restylane Kyss, Juvederm Ultra, and RHA 3.

Can Versa filler be used for the jawline?

Versa by Revanesse is a soft filler that is excellent for treatments that require soft results such as the lips. Jawline however requires more firm results to create a bony contour or shape, rather than a rounded fatty tissue appearance. Hence, we recommend against using Versa filler for the jawline.

Does Versa filler have lidocaine in it?

Yes, like most other fillers FDA-approved in the USA, Versa has lidocaine, a numbing agent, pre-mixed in their syringes.

Is Versa like Botox?

No, Versa is a gel type substance that can fill areas in order to achieve a more volumized appearance. Botox on the other hand relaxes muscles (ie. circular muscles of the lips) which then reduces the contraction (ie inward pulling of the lips) resulting either in less bending of the skin and fewer wrinkles, or movement opposite the direction of the muscle (ie. outward turning of the lips).

Is Versa filler FDA-approved?

Yes, it is. Versa was FDA-approved for the treatment of facial lines in 2017. And then received FDA approval for living injections in 2020. Its manufacturer is a Canadian company called Prollenium.

Is Revanesse a hyaluronic acid filler?

Versa, aka Revanesse versa, is a hyaluronic acid-based filler, FDA-approved for the treatment of facial lines in 2017. And then received FDA approval for living injections in 2020. Its manufacturer is a Canadian company called Prollenium.

What to expect after Versa lip filler?

After Versa Lip filler, you might see pinpoint bleeding and mild bruising. This will resolve and you will be able to see the desired results within a week.

Where can Revanesse Versa be used?

Versa is FDA-approved for use in facial folds like those of nasolabial folds (smile lines) and lips. However, we can use Versa off-label throughout the face. Speak to one of our expert providers with your goals to determine the best technique and filler choice.

Is Revanesse as good as Juvederm?

Juvederm is a family of different filler products, some of which last longer, and may be more robust. Other options that are thinner, used for finer lines are also available. Juvederm Ultra XC is most similar in consistency to Revanesse Versa. The best product choice is based on your specific goals.

What lasts longer, Versa or Juvederm?

Versa is one specific filler, while Juvederm is a family of different fillers. Versa was FDA approved to last about one year. Juvederm Voluma, in particular, was FDA approved to last up to two years, and Vollure up to 18 months. Other fillers in the Juvederm family (Ultra, Ultra Plus, Volbella, and Volux) were all FDA approved to last 1 year. Having said that, some of our patients do find that many of these fillers last longer than what they were FDA approved for.

Which is better, Versa or Kysse?

Versa and Kysse are competitive products from different manufacturers (Versa by Revanesse and Kyss by Galderma). Their characteristics vary, so it depends which specific rheology you are looking for to see which is better for that. If used in lips, our experience is that Kysse is a bit firmer right after injection and then softens when it settles, while Versa is soft right after injection, and after it has settled. Both tend to last about the same amount of time.

Is Versa filler better than Juvederm?

Versa and Versa Lips by Revanesse (same exact substance, just boxed differently) are one type of filler, while Juvederm by Allergan Abbvie is a family of different fillers. Versa is a great filler for the lip area as it is hydrating, volumizing, and similar to the natural consistency of the lips. Juvederm Ultra is similar to Revanesse Versa in the Juvederm family, but just a tad bit firmer (less dilute), and a bit more water-loving, making it even more of a hydrating gel. Just as with Revanesse Versa, it has a similar consistency to the lip tissue and has a natural looking result, if placed appropriately.

How long does it take for Versa filler to settle?

Immediately after the Revanesse Versa treatment, you will be able to notice initial results. However, the final, settled results are visible between 3-4 weeks following the procedure.

Is Versa a good under-eye filler?

It can be used. However, we don’t advise it. Versa and Versa lips fillers can be used “unauthorized” beneath the eyes in some cases, although it is not always the ideal option because Versa attracts water. They are also a bit firmer than needed under the delicate thin skin of under eyes.

What is the difference between Revanesse Lips and Versa?

Revanesse Lips is the exact same gel as Revanesse Versa, just packaged differently. Same ingredients, same density, same cross-linking, same manufacturing process. Lidocaine is pre-mixed with both. The only reason for the difference in packaging is for marketing purposes as FDA approval for lip indication came a few years after its approval for deep lines and folds such as the smile lines.

How long does Revanesse Versa filler last?

Revanesse Versa lasts about one year, but may differ in longevity depending on the patient’s metabolism, level of movement, and natural levels of degradation enzymes in that individual.

What makes Versa fillers different?

Versa fillers by Revanesse are very similar to other water loving soft fillers such as Juvederm Ultra and Restylane Kyss. However, it may be a bit thinner in consistency.

At Cosmetic Injectables, Revanesse Versa™+ provides a smooth, versatile solution for nasolabial folds and facial wrinkles with minimal swelling and downtime.
