Belotero Balance Sherman Oaks

Belotero Balance is one of the thinnest Hyaluronic Acid fillers on the market today. It received its FDA approval for wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds) and for under the eyes (infraorbital hollows). However, it also works well for more superficial and thinner wrinkles and lines anywhere, especially around the lips and lower cheeks. Due to the need for superficial placement of the product, expect a higher risk of bruising.

  • Lasts 3-6 months on average
  • Instantly reversible
  • FDA Approval – November 2011 for nasolabial folds, and September 2023 for infraorbital hollows
  • Hydrates skin with hyaluronic acids

What is Belotero Balance?

Belotero Balance treatment is a quick procedure that smooths out and fills in wrinkles and shallower under-eye hollows that are prone to Tyndal (a blue tint that can happen with some other fillers).

How Long Will Results Last?

Compared to other filler products currently FDA approved in the United States, Belotero Balance tends to last a shorter amount.  Clinically, our patients tell us that it lasts them about 3-6 months, even though it has a 6-9 month indication.  It is great for those interested in fillers but are unsure, and may want a short trial of fillers. In a few individuals, however, Belotero Balance can last indefinitely. In either case, it can instantly be removed through the injection of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

Similar & Related Procedures

Several other dermal fillers are used for rejuvenation. Different fillers work well for certain treatments based on their texture, depth, water affinity, firmness, and cohesivity.

Belotero has a thin consistency with low elasticity and viscosity. This means, Belotero is soft and will spread easily. However, it can maintain its gel form even under pressure. It works great for areas that move a lot and where there is limited space for swelling.

Other similar, thin consistency filler options include:

  • Juvederm Volbella: This is a filler that is also composed of hyaluronic acid. It is a great option for several treatments. It is versatile and treats the under eyes, lines around the mouth, lips, and nasolabial folds. Its results last up to 12 months. Juvederm Volbella, like most other hyaluronic acid fillers, is instantly reversible and contains lidocaine, which reduces pain and discomfort during treatment.
  • Restylane Silk: This treatment is another hyaluronic acid treatment that is used for treating small wrinkles and lines, from the Restylane family of fillers. Also a reversible, thin, hyaluronic acid based filler, but is known for a large amount of temporary swelling after procedure for about 1-3 days.
  • Restylane-L and Restylane Eyelight: The exact same gel marketed for different areas of treatment, Restylane-L (AKA Restylane) and Restylane Eyelight are very popular fillers for the under eyes and the nasolabial folds. Also pre-mixed with lidocaine, they make a comfortable treatment experience. While they initially tend to swell a bit more than other gels, their low water affinity characteristic outweighs the temporary post-procedure puffiness.
  • Restylane Refyne: Restylane Refyne is a thin, reversible hyaluronic acid filler that lasts about one year. It does have more water affinity compared to the other thin fillers, so it’s not optimal for undereye treatment. It’s best reserved for shallow lines and wrinkles as it integrates well into the tissue and provides flexibility with natural facial movements.

  • RHA 1 AKA RHA Redensity: One of our favorite fillers at our office, Redensity from the RHA family has the thinnest consistency of all other hyaluronic acid fillers currently on the market with the least amount of water affinity. It blends super well even in very thin skin areas of the face such as lip lines and superficial cheek lines.

Belotero Balance FAQs

What is Belotero Balance?

Belotero Balance is a thin hyaluronic acid-based filler that is usually of short duration, used for the treatment of wrinkles, lip lines, and undereye hollows.

What is the difference Between Belotero and Belotero Balance?

Belotero is short for Belotero Balance. In other words, they are the same filler gel and packaging without any differences.

Is Belotero Balance a Lip Filler?

Yes, Belotero can be injected into the lips as a lip filler. To get the look that you want, it’s optimal to schedule a consultation to learn more about the required amount and technique of injection of Belotero Balance filler.

Is Belotero better than Juvederm?

Depending on your goals and the area of treatment you are seeking, they are both great fillers. Belotero is a thinner filler like Juvederm Volbella, both good for lip lines rather than lip volume. However, Juvederm Volbella can last longer than Belotero Balance.

Is Belotero FDA approved?

Yes, Belotero Balance is FDA-approved for the treatment of undereye hollows, wrinkles, and lines around the mouth called nadolabial folds, and for marionette lines.

Is Belotero good for lips?

Belotero Balance is great for lip lines, but not as effective for enhancement of lip volume as some other competitor fillers in the market such as Juvederm Ultra and Restylane Kyss.

Is Belotero good for undereyes?

Yes, Belotero Balance is FDA-approved for undereye hollows and has a lower risk of tyndal effect or tyndal discoloration than many other fillers on the market. However, it has a shorter longevity than other fillers.

Is Belotero permanent?

No, Belotero Balance is a hyaluronic acid-based filler that can be dissolved instantly with hyaluronidase. It usually has a shorter duration than most other fillers on the market.

How long does it take for Belotero to settle?

It takes about 14 days for Belotero to settle. This is average for almost all filler treatments including Belotero Balance.

What are the disadvantages of Belotero?

The main disadvantage or advantage (depending on your goals) of Belotero is that it doesn’t last very long. Otherwise, as with other fillers in the market, it can cause temporary swelling and bruising in the area of treatment. The advantages are that it is instantly reversible and has reduced probability of tyndal discoloration.

Does Belotero migrate?

Migration of Belotero depends on the area of treatment and the amount of product used. In thin lines, as long as small amounts are used, it can stay put. But when larger amounts are used, the pressure from movement under the eyes and the lip area can push and spread Belotero, as it has low cohesivity.

Is one syringe of Volbella enough for lips?

In many cases, one syringe of Volbella is enough to achieve natural-looking lip enhancement. It can subtly increase volume and smooth out fine lines around the lips. However, the exact amount needed will depend on your individual goals and the current condition of your lips.

At Cosmetic Injectables Medical Spa, Belotero Balance reduces fine lines and deep folds, providing soft, natural-looking enhancements.
