Eat Well, Live Well, And Be Well
We’ve all heard that beauty starts from within, and it really is true. If you strive for beauty, it’s important to first look at your overall health, including maintaining a good work, life, and mind balance. Bearing a positive outlook, along with good nutrition and exercise, can help you lead a healthier lifestyle.
Eat Well
We recommend eating an anti-inflammatory diet, which helps promote healthy weight loss and makes your skin look radiant. This should include colorful fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains like old-fashioned oatmeal, and legumes like beans and lentils.
As you plan your meals, be mindful of the three “macronutrients”: protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Be sure to eat high-quality protein (like that found in fish, shellfish, poultry, and tofu). Ingest healthy fats, such as those found in coldwater fish (specifically wild Alaskan salmon, halibut, sardines, herring, and anchovies), as well as nuts, seeds, and olive oil. You should also work to maintain a low-glycemic carbohydrate diet, which can help your body to normalize insulin levels and blood sugar. On that note, try to avoid eating too many sugary, starchy foods, or those laden with chemical preservatives, as well as “diet” foods and meats high in saturated fats such as burgers.
Don’t forget hydration as well: you should be sure to drink 8-10 glasses of pure spring water per day. In terms of other beverages, stay away from sugar-laden juices and sodas, and cut out coffee and replace it with antioxidant-rich beverages, such as green tea.
In terms of meal frequency, we recommend that you aim to eat three meals and two snacks per day. For example, a meal might consist of a slice of turkey, a small piece of fruit, and a couple of nuts or olives.
Live Well
Incorporating exercise into your daily life is another key to your overall health. Even with a busy lifestyle, you should always make time for movement on a regular basis.
Try to incorporate some type of aerobic activity, such as a brisk 30-45 minute walk, at least four days of every week. You might also want to include more intensive cardio activities such as running or jogging. Furthermore, weight training and flexibility exercises, like stretching and yoga, can help strengthen your bones, muscles, and joints. You should aim to have a weight training or flexibility session two or three times a week.
