How To Save Your Skin During The Summer

by | Aug 13, 2019 | Injectables

Summer is here, and we could not be more excited! Summertime is the perfect excuse to really lay back and relax, whether it be by the pool, at the beach, or in your backyard. The summer sun will be out and ready to give you some rays and some good old vitamin D. With that in mind, it’s very important to care for your skin properly. Below are nine ways to treat your skin with the utmost respect that it truly deserves!

Let’s Begin!

Sunscreen

When it comes to summer skin care essentials, nothing quite compares to sunscreen. Sunscreen is the best method for caring for your skin when UV rays are beating down on you. It is simple to apply, and goes such a long way! Choose a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30, and higher if you’re spending more than a few hours outdoors.

There are two types of sunscreens: physical and chemical. Physical sunscreens sit on top of the skin, whereas chemical sunscreens are absorbed into the skin. Physical sunscreens, such as those containing zinc oxide, will protect your skin better than chemical ones, such as those containing avobenzone or octisalate. Give the new tinted sunscreens a try; there’s no residual white chalky residue, and it can even serve as a foundation. Just remember, regardless of which type of sunscreen you choose, reapply it frequently throughout the day.

Makeup with SPF

Hey, we get it… it’s difficult to wear both makeup and sunscreen together. Luckily, we have a recommendation: Oxygenetix! This oxygenating foundation is made with natural ingredients like aloe and is a 90% breathable, water-resistant foundation that contains an SPF of 25 to protect your skin. This is literally a 2-in-1 product; it’s both a sunscreen and foundation! How awesome is that?! This way, you can lay out on the beach confidently, knowing you’re protected and looking awesome as well.

Moisturizer

If your skin feels dry, Dr. Soleiman Skin Care is here to save the day. Our moisturizing creams hydrate your skin and make it very smooth, boost collagen, and give your skin vitamins! Of course, it’s important to moisturize regularly, but especially when you’ve been hanging out in the sun and heat all day.

Water

Our bodies are 70% water. We need to keep hydrated to survive, and it only makes sense that our skin needs water too! So, do yourself a favor and drink up. You’ll be amazed by the skin improvements good old H2O can provide. Water flushes out impurities and toxins, and it plumps skin cells, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Hyaluronic Infusion Through Injections and Aquagold

You can apply hyaluronic acid on the surface of your skin, but how about under the top layer of your skin? We all have naturally occurring hyaluronic acid within our skin, but this diminishes as we age. We have a special procedure at our office where we infuse hyaluronic acid through injections under the skin. With its ability to hold a thousand times its weight in water, hyaluronic acids can keep your skin hydrated.

Aquagold is another procedure where fillers, along with Botox, are mixed in a tiny device and tapped into the outer layer of the skin with microscopic needles. Not only can the procedure apply hyaluronic acids into the skin, but it also shrinks the pores because of the Botox delivered. What’s more, it’s completely painless!

Vitamins

Taking your daily vitamins is extremely important for your skin’s health. While the summer sun will give you plenty of vitamin D, biotin will give you plenty of vitamin B! Here at the Cosmetic Injectables Center, we have vitamin B shots, biotin vitamins for skin and hair, and sublingual vitamin D available.

Exfoliate Your Face

It’s important to exfoliate throughout the year, but especially during the summer to get rid of dead skin and dirt that might accumulate during a beach or pool day. Exfoliating produces a healthy and fresh appearance. Our aqua peels, oxygen facials, microdermabrasion, and exfoliation scrubs are fantastic! You have never felt, so fresh-faced as after one of these treatments.

Aloe

Did you forget your sunscreen? Oh no! We have all been there. Sometimes we think the sun can’t hurt us, but those powerful UV rays always win. Hey, you live and you learn. In the meantime though, do yourself a solid and rub some aloe on your burns. You’ll feel immediate cooling relief and, in the long run, your sunburn won’t be as severe and will heal faster.

Tan-Boosting Lotion

Tanning can cause premature aging. Even if you tan easily and don’t burn, it’s still important to wear sunscreen. Not to worry, you can still get that summer glow! Self-tanners have come a long way from the orange, goopy, streaky products of old. There are also spray tans available.

Please protect your skin! For the best in summer skin care, Dr. Soleiman provides specialized skin care for every skin type. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you in choosing the perfect formulation for your skin’s unique needs.
