Botox For Men Sherman Oaks

For many years Botox has been widely used by women worldwide to combat the effects of aging and enhance their overall appearance. However, women aren’t the only ones who can benefit from the many applications of neuromodulators like Botox. Botox for men can rejuvenate the face by smoothing out many fine lines and wrinkles. Botox can also be used to treat TMJ dysfunction such as teeth grinding or jaw clenching, drooping eyelids and eyebrows, under-eye lines, and downward slanting of the eyes. Cis gendered men and those looking to masculinize their appearance can all enjoy the many benefits that Botox and other neuromodulators have to offer.

Botox for Forehead Lines

Forehead lines refer to the types of lines that form above the brows. (Please do not confuse with the lines that form between the brows, known as frown lines, or 11’s).
There are two types of forehead lines: vertical and horizontal. Unfortunately, vertical forehead lines cannot be successfully treated with Botox, as they usually form from sleeping. However, horizontal lines that form due to the forehead muscle contracting and pulling up the brows can easily be treated with Botox.
Although it only takes about a minute to treat forehead lines with Botox, sometimes multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results. For example, fine lines that have been etched in the skin over many years may need approximately one year’s worth of Botox treatments.

These patients will need to undergo treatment every three months to prevent deep-set lines from forming and softening pre-existing lines’ appearance.

The FDA-approved dose for horizontal forehead lines is twenty units and results typically last around three months. However, some patients may require more or fewer units, depending on the severity of the forehead lines.

Botox for forehead lines costs $45 to $250 on average. The cost of Botox for the forehead depends on how many units are administered and which neuromodulator is used.

At Cosmetic Injectables Center in Sherman Oaks, we offer all neuromodulators, including Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Daxxify, and Xeomin. Our expert providers can assess which neuromodulator best addresses your individual goals and budget.

For your safety, we discourage using fillers in the forehead. For more information about some other treatment modalities, please click the following links: threads and microneedling.

Botox for Frown Lines (11's)

Frown lines are the vertical and horizontal lines that form between the brows. Vertical frown lines are often called 11’s. (Please note the difference from lines that form above the brows known as forehead lines.)

Frown lines result from repeatedly bending the affected skin — often through concentrating, frowning, or straining the eyes in the sun. Vertical frown lines, or 11’s, can often make one appear angry and unapproachable.

Fortunately, treating frown lines with Botox is safe and straightforward, taking only around 30 seconds to perform.

Patients with profound frown lines may need about a year’s worth of Botox treatments (once every three months) to achieve desired results.

The FDA recommends 20 units of Botox to treat frown lines, though some patients may require more or fewer, depending on the size and strength of the muscles and your overall sensitivity or resistance to Botox. The results typically last between three to five months.

Additional resources may also be necessary to achieve the best results. For example, you may need to wear tape across your frown lines at night to prevent crumbling your skin in your sleep against the pillow, as doing so may undo the benefits of Botox.

Frown line treatment costs between $45 to $250. Pricing depends on which neuromodulator is used and how many units are required to achieve desired results. We offer all neuromodulators, including Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Daxxify, and Xeomin. Our expert providers can help plan your treatment based on your individual facial anatomy, goals, and budget.

For your safety, we discourage the use of fillers in the forehead. Please see our website for other treatment modalities, such as threads and microneedling.

Botox for Crow’s Feet

Botox For Crow’s Feet Sherman Oaks

Crow’s feet are the small lines that form at the corners of the eyes as you age. Crow’s feet can be seen when you smile, laugh, or squint, and they are typically not visible until they have already been etched deep into the skin.

It is easy not to consider how crow’s feet affect our overall appearance as we usually cannot see them while our eyes are open. However, if left untreated, their appearance will deepen over time. Fortunately, depending on their location and cause, crow’s feet are easily preventable and even treatable with Botox.

It is straightforward and safe to treat crow’s feet with Botox, and the procedure takes only about a minute. However, some patients may need to undergo a year’s worth of treatments (once every three months) before seeing optimal results.

The FDA recommends 24 units of Botox to treat crow’s feet, though some patients may require more or fewer units depending on the severity of their condition, distribution, and the strength of their muscle. Results typically last about three to four months, and the pain associated with treatment in this area is exceptionally minimal in the hands of our skilled providers.

At Cosmetic Injectables Center, we offer all neuromodulators to treat crow’s feet, including Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Daxxify, and Xeomin.

Botox for Eyes

Botox and other neuromodulators (e.g., Dysport, Daxi, Jeuveau, Xeomin, et cetera) can also treat drooping eyelids and eyebrows, under-eye lines, and downward slanting of eyes.

If you have heavy eyelids or eyebrows, a neuromodulator can help lift the area. These procedures take less than one to two minutes to complete, and the results typically last around three months. Pain associated with this procedure is extremely minimal in the hands of the highly-skilled providers at Cosmetic Injectables Center.

Depending on the cause, we may also be able to eliminate your under-eye lines with neuromodulators. Again, the undereye procedure can also take less than one to two minutes to perform, and the results last anywhere from three to four months. Pain is minimal, and the cost typically ranges from $20 to $100.

Finally, it is normal to experience some downward slanting of the eyes (AKA “Sad Puppy Eyes”) as we age. This downward slanting can make you look sad or tired. Fortunately, it is easily treatable with a combination of fillers and neuromodulators.

Like the other eye related Botox treatments, this can take less than one to two minutes to perform, and the results last anywhere from three to four months. The pain associated with treatment is minimal, and the cost typically ranges from $60 to $300 depending on the number of units administered

Botox for Masseter Muscle, TMJ, Width of Lower Face

The masseter is the strongest muscle in the body, only second to the tongue. The masseter muscle is located on the sides of your lower face, where it connects your cheekbone to your lower jawbone and is responsible for chewing. Sometimes, the genetic strength or the overuse (ie teeth grinding suring sleep) and hence the overgrowth of this muscle can cause TMJ pain, a broad lower face, migraine, or wearing away of the teeth from the grinding.

The procedure of injecting neuromodulators into the masseter muscle can be called Masseter Botox, jaw Botox, or TMJ Botox. The treatment uses neuromodulators such as Dysport, Xeomin, Daxi, Jeuveau, and Botox to relax the jaw muscles (masseters) temporarily. As a result, the muscle’s contraction strength is reduced, resulting in improvements in all of the issues listed above.

Botox for Men FAQs

How Long Does Male Botox Last?

The answer depends on what type of and how much Botox was used, your lifestyle and anatomy. For instance, if you have a high metabolism, participate in physical activity, or are on a restrictive diet, your Botox may wear off quicker. However, male Botox lasts anywhere between three to four months on average. If used in larger doses, it may last up to nine months.

How Much Botox Does a Man Need?

Men typically require more Botox than women due to their testosterone levels creating stronger, larger muscle mass within the face. The amount of units necessary depends on the location of treatment:

  • Forehead: 15-25 units
    • Add 5-10 units if treating a widow’s peak
  • Brow lift: 5-10 units
  • Crow’s feet: 8-15 units per side of the face
  • Bunny lines on the nose: 2-10 units
  • Frown: 15-30 units
  • Downturned corners of the mouth: 5-10 units
  • Masseter muscle treatment (for jaw grinding and TMJ): 25-50 units on each side
  • Chin: 5-10 units
  • Neckbands: 5-10 units
  • Sweating: 50-75 units per underarm
  • Sweaty palms: 25-50 units per hand

Can Botox Reduce Sweating In Men?

Yes, Botox is a great option to reduce sweating in men. It works by blocking the nerve signals responsible for sweating and stopping the sweat glands from producing excess sweat. It is a quick and easy procedure that only takes about ten minutes to complete, and the effects last for an average of six months.

At What Age Should A Man Get Botox?

There is no “right age” to get Botox — rather, it all depends on your unique anatomy. For example, some people are born with muscle placements that create deep creases on the face even from childhood, while others won’t develop these creases until later in life (if at all). Those with expressive and animated facial expressions may want to consider preventative Botox to stop lines from becoming etched in the skin. These dynamic expression lines may happen as early as 18 years of age.

Is Botox for Men Better Than Fillers?

Botox and fillers compliment each other and work best together for most areas of the face. Sometimes however, they work well independently depending on the area and your goals. For example, fine lines such as those in the forehead, frown, and crows feet do well with only Botox. However, lifting the the downward slanting of the eyes, lips, or eyebrows can do well with both. Botox for men can also treat jaw clenching, TMJ, and excessive sweating. On the other hand, fillers can hydrate and plump the skin and other areas such as the lips, cheeks, and undereyes.

What Happens If You Stop Using Botox for Men?

There are no known adverse effects to stopping Botox use. However, its results (like lessening sweating or reducing the appearance of wrinkles) will slowly fade away. Your muscles will eventually start working the same way they did before the treatment. It’s important to note that your muscles will not try to “make up for lost time” (AKA rebound) so there is no reason to fear that you will look any worse than you did before.

Does Botox for Men Look Natural?

Botox brings about natural results when administered by an experienced injector. Dr. Soleiman, M.D. is a registered medical doctor with extensive training and experience in cosmetic injectables. Each member of our team is dedicated to making your experience as natural looking and as pleasant as possible.

Does Insurance Cover the Cost of Botox for Men?

It depends on the reason for the Botox treatment. If you are getting Botox for therapeutic purposes (for example, to treat bladder incontinence, muscle dystonia, tremors, or fissures), Botox injections may be covered under your health insurance plan. Contact your provider to learn more.

Is Botox for Men Safe?

When administered by an experienced professional, Botox for men is very safe. However, possible side effects and complications include:

  • Crooked smile or drooling
  • Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows
  • Eye dryness or excessive tearing
  • Headache or flu-like symptoms
  • Pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site

These side effects are temporary and will subside with time. However, when receiving treatments from an inexperienced injector, you run a higher risk of side effects. Dr. Soleiman, M.D. is a registered medical doctor with an impeccable reputation in the cosmetic injectables world. Each member of our team is committed to keeping you safe and comfortable throughout your treatment process.

Does Botox for Men Hurt?

Most men find Botox to be a near-painless procedure. Still, you do have the option to have your skin numbed beforehand. We also offer Nitronox (AKA laughing gas) to make certain procedures more comfortable. Patients looking to treat their palms or soles for excessive sweating may especially want to consider this option.

What Is the Proper Aftercare for Botox for Men?

Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for the first 24 hours after the procedure, as this may cause the Botox to spread to a different location. If possible, don’t lie down or bend over for the next 4 hours and maintain a normal heart rate. It is imperative to leave the treated area alone and wait at least 4 hours before exercising. Taking these measures ensures optimal results and can also increase the duration of your Botox. Other than that, you can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure.
